Steven J. Franta is the Owner & Partner of Somsen, Mueller & Franta PA. He has over twenty years of experience practicing law primarily focusing in the areas of estate planning, probate, real estate, agricultural and business law. He is also a licensed Title Insurance Agent and Certified Continuing Education Coordinator and Presenter.

HISTORY: Prior to joining Somsen, Mueller & Franta PA, he worked as a law clerk and associate attorney from 1990-1994 for MacKenzie & Gustafson in St. Peter and as Nicollet County Assistant County Attorney. In 1994, Steve joined the firm of Somsen, Schade, and Schaffer, acquired ownership of the firm in 1997 which has since expanded to include the practices of Alvin R. Mueller (New Ulm) in 2003, Sheldon S. Larson (Winthrop) in 2008, William D. Sommerness (Hutchinson) in 2013, and Errol E. Hauser & Donald E. Schmid (Sleepy Eye) in 2014.

HISTORY: Prior to joining Somsen, Mueller & Franta PA, he gained experience in both litigation and transactional law, including time spent as an associate attorney. While in law school Ryan also worked as a summer associate for a Wisconsin law firm and as a Minnesota Justice Foundation volunteer at the Hennepin County Family Justice Center. More recently he was an adjunct professor at the William Mitchell College of Law and earned a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota. Before becoming an attorney Ryan was the Political Director for a successful 2004 congressional election campaign, and worked as an intern and District Field Representative for a member of Minnesota’s congressional delegation.

Aaron D. Quinby is an associate attorney with Somsen, Mueller & Franta PA. His areas of practice include: real estate, business law, estate planning, trust administration, and probate. Aaron guides families and businesses through major decisions and life events, helping them to protect, grow, and ultimately transition the assets they have created. Aaron’s dynamic background in finance and real estate allows him to bring a unique perspective and understanding to his clients.
HISTORY: Prior to attending law school, Aaron worked for multiple large financial institutions, working in the areas of financial planning, asset preservation and real estate. While in law school Aaron was named to the dean’s list, served as editor of the William Mitchell Journal of Law and Practice, participated in the Rosalie E. Wahl Moot, and was vice president of the Real Estate Law Society. Upon graduation Aaron was awarded the Minnesota Justice Foundation Public Service Award for completing over 150 volunteer hours and William Mitchell’s Law and Business Certificate for demonstrating a mastery of business law concepts. While in law school, Aaron worked as a research assistant for Associate Dean Mehmet Konar-Steenberg, and for a number of law firms focusing on business law, estate planning, and real estate. Prior to joining Somsen, Mueller & Franta PA, Aaron worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Sheridan Hawley chambered in Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District.
